My theme
The theme of my project tackled the issue of racism through a unique and culturally resonant lens: the popular Italian debate over peach tea versus lemon tea.
They are both teas
The design juxtaposes the two teas, highlighting their differences and similarities to convey a deeper message: despite outward distinctions, the essence remains the same. This metaphor subtly underscores the idea of unity and equality in the face of racism. The final two pages feature a bold illustration accompanied by the phrase, "No matter what you choose, they're both teas" reinforcing the message of inclusivity.
My process
I created the illustrations in Figma and finalized the layout in InDesign, ensuring it was ready for Risograph printing. The character featured is part of a series I developed, serving as the protagonist for this narrative. Through this project, I honed my skills in both digital design and traditional printing techniques, while exploring how design can be used to address social issues in a thoughtful and engaging way.
