The artist essence
I chose Yuji Ueda, an artist capable of freezing vases in the midst of their own formation, giving life to unique creations. I wanted to represent this organic nature in the graphics as well.
To translate this artistic essence, I employed a central cut design in the brochure. This choice facilitates folding into a booklet format while enabling the back to function as a standalone poster when unfolded. This dual functionality enhances viewer interaction, inviting them to engage with the brochure in various ways.
Giving new life
To emphasize the central cut and evoke the spirit of Yuji Ueda's work, I incorporated a golden gradient.
This gradient draws inspiration from the traditional Japanese kintsugi technique, where broken objects are repaired with gold, embracing the philosophy of giving new life and value to things that may seem broken or obsolete.
