University Project
3 by 3 zine
For this project, I was tasked with designing a zine featuring three case studies each on artists, Italian design studios, and international design studios. The brief allowed for complete creative freedom beyond this, and I embraced the opportunity to control every aspect of the design, from layout to paper selection.
Focusing on visual identity, I meticulously selected graphic design studios that excel in this domain. For the artists, I chose individuals whose diverse styles and mediums would showcase a wide range of creative expression.
Process and challenges
I started the project by researching each subject extensively, creating mood boards, and sketching initial concepts. I faced challenges in balancing the aesthetics with the functionality of the zine, particularly in paper selection, but ultimately, these choices enhanced the tactile and visual experience of the final product.
Personal reflection
Through this project, I honed my skills in layout design and material selection, deepening my understanding of visual identity. The creative freedom allowed me to explore my design style fully, and this project has since influenced my approach to visual storytelling and design.
